How-to: Green Smoothies

Smoothies have been our summer staple each morning. As the adage goes, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so why not begin your day with a strong start?! And since we are making these from scratch each day, it's a no-brainer to add in as many greens as we can, especially since the taste is undetectable. This is also a great way for kids to begin to learn about how to eat for nourishment and how to be good to our bodies. Even the pickiest of eaters (I have one of those) may surprise you and ask for a second serving when they can add the things they like to their smoothie.

An easy way to extend the life of your smoothie is to pour the batch into popsicle molds and freeze them to enjoy later. With this heat wave we are currently enduring, these smoothie pops have been such a refreshing (and healthy) snack for the family. The recipe below can be tailored and made your own with your own personal favorites added. Feel free to comment or shoot us an email if you have any favorites or new ideas! We love to learn and try new things!!
