About the Recipe

This turkey bacon bento is the perfect mix of flavor and texture: pita chips make a deliciously crunchy base for deli turkey and are also great for dipping the creamy hummus with crispy bacon in every bite!

With basic staples and leftovers, you can assemble this tasty lunch packed with nutrition and goodness. Bacon bits sprinkled over hummus take this lunch to a whole new level!

Add deli turkey (or another protein) and your favorite veggies, and you got a delicious meal that it’s also fun to eat. Soooo good you’ll want to pack one for you too!

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces deli turkey, rolled up

  • 1 slice bacon, cooked and chopped

  • 2 tablespoons hummus

  • 1 cup sliced veggies, your favorite

Instructions

  1. Roll up the turkey slices and slice into bite sized pieces. Place them inside one of the compartments of the bento box, away from dry ingredients, like the pita chips, to prevent them from getting soggy.

  2. Place the pita chips in the lunch container. Fill a small, lidded container with the chopped bacon and the hummus inside another small, lidded container. Put everything inside the lunch box.

  3. Pack sliced veggies, like cucumbers, in another compartment.

  4. Assemble this lunch a day ahead and store in the refrigerator until ready to send it to school in a lunch bag.

NOTES

If your kids don't love hummus, you can switch out with guacamole instead.
